David Willer, Ph. D.
I am David Willer, a high school Social Studies teacher, who wants to know how school-age children deal with issues of reliability and credibility when looking for information in a variety of resources. High school students often have research papers to write and I want to know to what extent students think about the reliability and credibility of the sources they find and use when engaged in research. My own practice tells me that my students are increasingly when simply looking up answers to homework problems by using the Internet rather than doing their assigned reading. As a result, I entered the doctoral program at the Information School at the University of Washington, Seattle. I finished and defended my dissertation in December of 2014.
